I agree, we need a da|/|n kicker, and nugent is pretty good. If we wait at all he'll be gone, we should either take him in the second or trade up to get him early in the 3rd.
What? No "totally titties in the face"? for Cowart?

It would be a gamble for trying to take him in the 3rd,

We need a kicker more than ANYTHING right now. We lost 4 games by 3 points or less last year. We were that close to going 12-4.

Definitely a good deal. Even if Cowart turns out to be a bust, we didn't give up anything significant to get him.

IMO, we should if Mike Williams or Braylon Edwards is still there at # 7, we have to take Williams, then Edwards, that order. If both of them are gone, and DJ's there, we can't pass on him. If we take DJ, we need a WR at #18. If we get Williams or Edwards, I say we go w/ the most talented front 7 defender remaining.

2nd round we pick Nugent, no questions. We fill all of our needs with the first 3 picks.

I've got to admit, though, I'm still a little nervous. We've now signed:

    CB Fred Smoot
    S Darren Sharper
    LB Napoleon Harris (trade)
    DT Pat Williams
    LB Sam Cowart (trade)

All of these guys are solid, but are any perennial pro-bowlers that are guaranteed to make an impact. I think we'll be alright considering we've upgraded at so many positions, but I could see a couple of these guys being busts, or just not quite where we need them to be. Remember Denard Walker, Chris Claiborne, Greg Biekert, Chris Dishman. All of those guys were supposed to make an impact. And some of them did, when healthy, but we probably had higher expectations than that which any of them lived up to.

7th round pick for a starter is a damn good trade. Cowart is a good LB which the Vikes sure were weak at last year. Who will be the starters now that Cowart is here? Harris, Cowart, Thomas?

I am just mad that we could have re-signed claiborne. Then we would have had a proven solid LB core.

All of this drafting nugent in the 2nd, hell we could probably trade for Vanderjaght or akers with a second rounder. That is too high, nothing higher than the 3rd round.
