    Re: Vikings trade Jayme Mitchell

not a huge fan of this trade.

im happy for mitchell he should get some more playing time with the browns but he seemed to be on the bubble for having a good season for a rotational backup.

my guess new o-Lineman till sullivan gets healed up or rice comes back.

Well I guess I have to support it because we are so deep with talent that we really couldn't bring in anyone at any position that would see any playing time anyway.

    Good job staff.

I am thinking right now it is to open up a roster spot for a big name receiver. Just a hunch

Could be.....I just hope they have a good plan for pass protection.

My only issue here is a late 2012 pick???????

That doesnt seem like enough especially when you consider that we may not even have a 2011 season.
I agree. We need a WR and yet we essentially get nothing in this trade. Brilliant.

We should have tried to get Chansi Stuckey.
Griffin makes him replaceable. The pick, along with the other extra ones we have will allow Spielman to move around on the board during the draft.

IMHO, this is a good move, especially if they make the WR move mentioned in another thread.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

I'm not sure why they make this move. While he's not a starter he was in the rotation and even had a sack against the Saints(one of only 4 sacks by the Vikings).

Though now that I look it shows that he wasn't active for the Lions game. Are they just trading him to open up a roster spot for another reciever?

Anyhow best of luck to him in cleveland.

According to Glazer, it was to have an open roster position for Moss.

    Then I would cut Jackson.

We got something for a guy who wasn't going to see the field much this year; my guess is they are plenty confident in their backups and don't see a huge drop-off in talent from the person who replaces him...

C'mon fellas, to get something you have to give something.

I think its clear what they did here. They are trading a draft pick(s) and only a draft pick(s) for Moss, hence needed to clear a roster spot, so instead of cutting someone they traded someone from the deepest position on our roster and got a draft pick.
