That's dexter Jackson. Dwight smith is a bit past his prime, but has a lot of experience in the cover 2 and would be good for depth and may challenge for a starting spot.
Dexter Jackson was the mvp of that super bowl with 2 picks, but dwight returned two for touchdowns. And D. Smith is hardly past his prime at 27 years old.

Having too many safeties? Gimme more! I'm not convinced that one of these guys won't wind up playing MLB in the Cover-2, especially if Napo or EJ can't cut it, and we DON"T get Edwards. Gimme Edwards!

An addendum: I forgot to mention that I suspect Greg Blue will get that MLB opportunity. Makes sense, since he's a bruiser with coverage experience, if not exactly coverage skills. His skills are less of a liabilty at MLB than SS.

Well depth is never something that should be overlooked and if bringing him in increases that then I'd be happy to go for it. We know that a certain amount of bodies are in TC to make up the numbers, so why not bring in someone who would be a good use of a roster spot.

hopefully napo can show us why we traded the best reciever in the game for him this year, and win the starting job at MLB.
ONLY if we get to trade him straight up to the Chargers for Edwards!!!

Stop turning threads into Donnie Edwards hour Cajun and ejmat, anyway I doubt we get him he's a free safety which we have one better then him and he likely won't sign anywhere that he would just be depth he wants to start not compete to start.

Depth never hurts. The Patriots had depth, and a lot of injuries.

I do not see Fox becoming a reliable NFL player...ever.

So Fuad, are you saying depth isn't important? I won't stop running threads into Donnie Edwards because he's an available player in a position we need right now. Not to mention his leadership and field guidance he can bring this team. I don't understand why people are so confident in the LB crew we have now. It's true there is a lot of potential there but there is no leader and no one proven. I do not think Leber or EJ are ready for that type of role yet. They aren't proven themselves. Not even Napo, Thomas, Davis, or any of the LBs.

PS - Donnie Edwards is a LB not a free safety

That's what I thought, I saw John Lynch on NFLTA last night and he was talking about D. Smith being robbed of the Super Bowl MVP.
PM me if you'd like a sig.
