Well - last year, Dustin Fox broke his arm and was lost for the season and Offord hurt his knee after 3 games and was lost for the season, so, as I recall, the Vikes were down to THREE safeties by game 3."Rastak" wrote:

Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports free agent S Dwight Smith (Saints) said several teams already have shown interest in him. He mentioned the Minnesota Vikings as one of those teams.
How many safeties do we need? Geez.
The more the better to bring to training camp.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: Vikings | Team showing interest in D. Smith
Isn't he the safety that returned two INTs for TDs in the Bucs Super Bowl game against the Raiders? Yeah, I think I could be okay with this guy. It'd be interesting to see who would win the SS spot with a three way competition between Smith, Tank, and Offord.
PM me if you'd like a sig.

After giving it some thought maybe he would be a good backup at FS.
Would he sign a contract to be a backup? Could very well be.

Re: Vikings | Team showing interest in D. Smith
Didnt we pay Tank starter-type money? I cant see any other safties being brought in for anything but depth.
I think alot of us have not be fourtinate to see Tank play, so alot of us our nervous/anixous to see what he can do.I think Tank is gonna play excellent for us.
Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

That's dexter Jackson. Re: Vikings | Team showing interest in D. Smith
Depth isn't a bad thing and Willie Offord has yet to prove himself. Also his off the field problems don't exactly help the situation. He would be a good pick up. I'm still with Cajun on the D Edwards thing. That is the biggest need and IMO would totally solidify the defense.

And MLB is a MUCH GREATER need right now...we have no one that has stepped up yet...and I am getting very nervous!BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE
