    Inside Slant

The Vikings could make a big splash in their effort to find a pass-rushing defensive end.........

    Re: Vikings Team Report 04/21/08

Thanks for the read my friend.

    • According to The Redzone website, the Vikings’ “Strength of Schedule” for 2008 is the most difficult in the NFC and the fourth-toughest among all NFL teams. The combined 2007 winning percentage of the Vikings’ 2008 opponents was .551.
I know that alot of you don't worry about strenght of schedule but that is a scary stat right there.
My feelings are that good teams just don't go to shit overnight.
If they were good last year they will be able to beat any given team again this year.

Its not hard to figure out who are long term solutions or who are just gap fillers.....

    PLAYERS ACQUIRED
    • WR Bernard Berrian: UFA Bears; $42M/6 yrs, $$5M SB/$8M RB; $3M RB ‘09; 2008 cap: $9.538M.
    • S Michael Boulware: UFA Texans; 1 yr, terms unknown.
    • QB Gus Frerotte: FA Rams; $4M/2 yrs, SB unknown.
    • RB Maurice Hicks: UFA 49ers; 3 yrs, terms unknown.
    • LB Derrick Pope: UFA Dolphins; terms unknown.
    • CB Benny Sapp: UFA Chiefs; $705,000/1 yr, $100,000 SB.
    • FB Thomas Tapeh: UFA Eagles; $6M/5 yrs, $1.2M guaranteed.

Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Bears fans would beg to differ...Seahawks fans as well.
Fact is, injuries are the unknown quantity that can wreck a team for a year or more.
Witness the one-year gap in between both the Pats and the Cowboys "3 in 4 years" SBs...yep, you guessed it..injuries.
Also the problem in the Steelers "4 in 6 years" SBs.
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

Not always. Not when it happens to your team.

I think Spencer Johnson and Tony Richardson were the ones worth keeping. Johnson has played well enough to deserve a chance to start, but it wasn't happening behind the Williamses. Richardson was a great FB for us.

Sure there are a few that it happens to but generally well run teams with sound leadership in the front office, at the coaching level and on the team rarely become inept over night.
