Re: Vikings team prediction (not a record prediction)

Well here are my thoughts ...

Vikings MVP - Kevin Williams for leading the defense to another top-flight performance

Best Rookie - Adrian Peterson with 1,007 yards and 11 TDs

Most Improved Player - I hate suckering out, but for one to be the other will be too ... Tarvaris Jackson and Troy Williamson

Most Dedicated Player - Tarvaris Jackson because he has to be to prove everyone wrong

Breakout Vikings of the Year - T-Will, T-Jack, Greenway

Best Team Player of the Year (who's the most focused on helping the team) - Darren Sharper

    and for our own amusement:

Vikings Most Likely to be Traded After 2007 - I know it has already been said ... but Mewelde Moore, he just does not fit anymore

Vikings LVP (Least Valuable Player) - Tony Richardson (if Childress in fact wants to use a two-headed attack ... this fullback becomes overpaid and underused)

Most Whiney Spoiled Princess/Player - Good chance it ends up Darrion Scott if
James and Udeze are up to snuff ... or Dwight Smith if Doss, Sharper and Blue are

Biggest Boneheaded Vikings - By the end of the year I think the one who will make the most mistakes will likely be Cedric Griffin ... he is going to have a lot of pressure and be thrown at a lot ... but I don't think he will be all that bad, but people love bagging on the second corner.

    Not too far fetched Stallion.
    Think about it.
he would have the biggest trade value and by that time AP will show to be the premier back.
    Excellent choices.

True, but we are in a day and age of RBC. I would cry if Chester was gone after two years. I honestly hope we have our RBs for the next 10 years in these two guys. That is far fetched in the days of FA, but man it would be awesome if they both stuck around.

Chester was Childress' workshorse last year and Childress went after him quickly, suggesting he is one of "Childress' guys."

Gotta go with V on this one.

    CT wore down last year.
AD has had some issues with staying healthy at the college level.
Both will stay and they will both have a big FB
blocking for them as they take turns on the field in the traditional offensive sets.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Please, I'm not advocating losing CT.
I was extremely happy when we picked him up last year and I still am.
Honestly, I think MeMo may go before this season starts.
However, Stallion went out on a limb with that prediction and when you think about it, it may happen.
It isn't that far fetched as much as I want CT with the Vikings.
Believe me, if AP establishes himself as a premier back in this league Memo may stay and CT may be traded due to his value.
The Vikings are very deep in RBs now.
I agree AP and CT will make a great combo and I hope they are together here for a long time.
However, Peterson has the potential of being a superstar.
If he lives up to that potential there really is no room for someone like CT.
He is good enough to start on most teams and he deserves to.

Well said ej. If you are expecting AD to be on the level of LJ, LT, or even Tiki, then no, there would be no space for CT. At the same time, it is hard to believe that he would reach his potential so soon that he is sure enough of a bet to trade CT. Reggie Bush had a phenomenal season as a rookie, and the Saints still held on to McAlister, without question.

IMO AD would have to have a 2,000 yard season in his rookie year to justify trading CT. I sincerely doubt we re-sign MeMo next year anyways.
