Shank has the speed and size to beat a lot of LBs and even some of the safetys. That deep route he ran was perfect, the same one TJ just missed him on in the Ravens game
I'm probably one of the biggest Shanc supporters on here but I wouldn't add him to my FF league.
Not because of his talents but because of the scheme.

Like it or not, in this scheme the QB reads are designed mostly around a 3 or a 5 step drop and the TE is used mostly to give the T's help initially then get out into the seams if he doesn't need to help block.
If he doesn't need to help block and does get out into the seam and get open, normally the QB will have already gone to a hot read or hit his second read long before the TE gets out.

Look at the catches by Shanc last night.
He was not the primary reciever in either one of them and in the second one he was the third option.
Heck, even our FB's were targeted first before our TE's were last night.

Again, he is talented but we just won't ever see the use of the TE in this scheme, with a few exceptions, other than as a outlet/emergency valve based on the scheme.
For FF that isn't a good thing my friend.
at 1st n goal i bet those 3-5 step bullet it shanc should work well for us.

as long as he keeps catching it!!

We aint passing the ball on 1st n goal, and if we do, its a fade to Rice or a slant to Wade.

    More positive outlook here?

    So Shanc is the guy?

Have any of the scrubs been getting time in the preseason games.

Pre-season is the time for optimism.

If you're referring to TE scrubs, there hasn't been a lot of action towards any of them.
Shank leads the TE list with 4 catches for 64 yards, followed by Braden Jones (2 for 10 yds), Kleiny (1 for 13 yards) and Dugan (1 for 9 yds, if you consider him a TE). http://www.nfl.com/teams/minnesotavi...stics?team=MIN

It looks like they are assessing more of Shank's ability as a reciever, possibly an indication of more to come in the regular season??
If Mills was healthy, I think we would have seen a few tosses in his direction.
We know what we have in Kleinsausser.
