Re: Vikings' Tarvaris Jackson Shows Why Completion Percentage Isn't Everything
Everyone seems to be obsessed with bringing up the # of yards TJ throws in a game... do these people understand that TJ is 32nd in Att/G, but 23rd in yards/Att?
Is it TJ's fault he has the best RB in the league, who rightly gets a good # of carries? Also look who is below him:
26 Kyle Boller
26 Marc Bulger
26 Rex Grossman
26 Eli Manning
(that's the SB winner)
30 Kellen Clemens
30 Trent Edwards
32 Cleo Lemon
33 Brodie Croyle
As for the short passes, you would expect it if the WR's aren't getting open.
Better safe then sorry.

Re: Vikings' Tarvaris Jackson Shows Why Completion Percentage Isn't Everything
In the end it won't be how many passes he can complete when he doen't have to, it will be how many completions he is able to make when he has to make them. In other words when the game is on the line and running isn't going to win the game, does he have the ability to throw the ball down field and lead the team from behind to victory.
I hope he does.

Don't forget the T-Will factor either. There were two passes dead nuts on in the Denver game alone that were dropped & went against his completion percentage.
Just because a receiver doesn't hang onto the ball doesn't mean the pass was thrown inaccurately.

I am just throwing this out there. What about yards after the catch? Were those short gains TJs fault? Isn't that how the Vkings offense is run, "dink and dunk"?

But what does that prove? Those guys were all terrible last year, and even Eli sucked it up until the playoffs.
