Vikings are still in contention for the NFC's # 1 Seed.
All of the talk of us taking the NFC North and being 8-5 made me realize that we have a very good chance to be the best team in the NFC and win home field advantage during the entire playoffs. He are the 4 simple task that are needed to attain this goal.
1) Win all of our games.
The toughest of all of the requirements but it is something that we can do. With the next few games against Atl, Cards and Giants, we control our destiny. Win out and we are sending a message to 3 playoff contenders than we are the real deal. We can do this but we must play better than we did at Det.
Chances: 50/50
2)Giants: Lose next 3 (Dallas, Carolina, and Minn)
A week ago I would say this was near impossible. However, after watching a lot of yesterdays game, I think it's possible that the G-Men can lose all of these game. Dallas is never a cake walk, while Carolina and Minn can both ball. This isn't unheard of.
Chances: About as much as Hell freezing over but Satan's arse is starting to get frostbitten.
3)Tampa Bay: Lose to 3 of next 4 (Carolina, Atlanta,
San Diego and Oakland)
I still can't believe we lost to this team. They are playing good ball but we are better than them and had it not been for that 3rd and 25, we would have one this game. They can easisly drop 3 against Carolina, Atlanta and San Diego.
Chances: About as much as them completing a 3rd and 25 play against us....Crap that happened?!
60/40 then
>
4) Carolina:
Lose 2 of next 4 and win at Giants (Tampa Bay,
Denver, at NY Giants, at New Orleans)
Loses to the Saints, or Denver is possible. A lot of it has to do with tonights game. I expect Carolina to win and the fact that we beat them makes this easier.
A loss at Denver and New Orleans would help us greatly.
Chances: Possible
There you have it! The # 1 seed is within reach. Skol Vikings.

possible, but unlikely, the #2 seed is more realistically possible.

We have as good of a chance being the number 1 seed as the Packers do making the playoffs
I just want to get there and play at home

#1 seed?!?!?
Don't talk about #1 seed.
#1 seed?
We should be more concerned about the Vikings keeping ahead of the Bears than if a bunch of unlikely scenarios can all happen to give the Vikings a bye.
If I had to guess I would say the Vikings get a #3 or #4 seed.

Why all the disbelief? Most of you didn't even know it was possible. Drink from the purple kool-aid my firends.
The Giants lossing out is likely with Jacobs hurt.
The Overrated Bucs can drop 3 games
The
Panthers can lose 2 games
We can win out.
What's so difficult?

They also looked horrible vs. the Browns, only to bounce back rather nicely. I'm sure they will do the same here.Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

It's doable
Not likely.. I like to think one game at a time
Next week we will know more where we will be.. If we win we are in great position
If we lose we are in a scary situation
