I believe T-Jack is our future, but he has to get the ball out, and if Bollinger is a bit better right now that's not so hard to believe. Tarvaris just needs reps at full speed against some blitzses and different defensive looks.

I think I was one of the first to bet Bollinger started this year. My stance hasn't changed.

    Maybe I'm missing something here.
This is the first time I've heard anything about TJ "putting in a lackluster off-season".
    All I've heard is he's a work-aholic.
Childress has said all along they would share reps and I don't remember anything that stated TJ was the definate starter.

The media starts things by their opinion then stirs it up later.
I wouldn't read anything new into this article.
That's the way its been from the beginning with Childress.

Re: Vikings’ starting QB job suddenly up for grabs

I could probably start writing articles for some of these sites.

That told us nothing we really did not know already.
I have always felt our QB job was up for grabs.
As a coach, I don't think I would want to annoit one the started to early, as competition may dwindle.
Why should I bust my ass if the other guy is going to start, or why should I bust my ass if I am the starter.

Makes sense to me to put that job wide open and make them fight for it.

Has Chilly ever formally announced TJ as the starter, or has just consistently said he is happy with what he has at the QB position?

    Don't worry to much EJ.
    Your not missing much.

TJ has nothing but potential, just not alot of experience.
    With that said......

TJ will struggle this year as he goes through the learning process.
That is a nationally recognized issue.
What some can't grasp is the fact that the team (to include the owner) is willing to go through some rough times as he gets some "Under Center" time running the offense this year.

In the long run, he, along with the team will be better for it.

    You and me both actually.

    But this is hardly news.
I think they are just rehashing an article that was printed in the Star Trib a couple of weeks ago.
Profootballweekly doesn't follow any one particular team, they just aggregate reports from local media sources and put their spin on it.

Childress never gave the job to TJack, everyone else seemingly has.
    This is no "development."

Re: Vikings’ starting QB job suddenly up for grabs

    Nope. Nothing new there.
BChill has said "QB competition," many, many times.

What TJack seemingly lacks the most, is CONFIDENCE...how to instill that without reps I don't know...but I hope we don't damage it as well.

Bollinger has a slight advantage having played in Wisconsin (w/ Chilly?)
In his one game, Brooks looked good for us, moving the team into scoring range.
    Then he got hurt.

Seems like Brooks might be the better driver overall, but TJack has the better deep ball and scrambling skillz...either way I still say its up to the OLINE and defense to make it work.
