I admire your dedication, but neither Soldier nor Lambeau is as cold as Minny in December. This whole wanting a roof is ridiculous... there is nothing better then watching a game outdoors in the rain or snow. The Vikings lost home-field advantage. I am definitely going to go to an outdoor game at TCF if they play there. I love going to Lambeau or Soldier Field in the cold and watch the vikings play... or not play in the case of the November game in GB. I was still screaming and rooting them on at 34-0... i wish childress would have kicked a field goal

i really don't see it taking so long to build the actuall stadium. the whole extra mini city Wilfe wanted will take more time and development.
i've seen stadiums here take just over 8 months for basic construction, and another 2- 3 months for finishing touches. and this is in greece where things move extremly slowly.

Here is a link to the timeline for the Cards stadium and they don't have the inclement weather during the year that the Vikes new stadium builders will encounter.

This one talks about the Cowgirls stadium.
Started in 2006 it will be ready in 2009.

Again, my guess is we will be watching the team play from the new Gopher stadium for a couple of years.
Here is a timeline for the Gophers stadium.
Ground broke in 2006, ready in 2009.

Yeah, I guess you might be right - we'll be playing the the gopher stadium for two years.
We need to remember that our construction season in Minnesota is shorter than other parts of the country too.
I hope that everybody who is hell bent on an outdoor stadium takes the opportunity to watch a December Vikings game in TCF stadium.... That might change a few minds of people who have never experienced it.

And if I had to guess, I think it will be a fixed roof.
I anticipate some complaints from people regarding that, and I would love for the most vocal to sit through a full game at TCF in December.

Me too, and I can't wait, should be fun.

Tell you what.
I will buy both you and UffDa tickets right next to me for the last game in December at TCF.
Just so I can see if you are all talk!
Of course, it will be easy to get a seat... since it will be half empty anyway.

No need to buy my ticket for me, But when you order, let me know how much they are and I will cut you a check.
I'll bring the Steaks for you, me and jcmdon at the tailgating party.

Re: Vikings stadium plans move forward
Argue about it anyway you like!
Since moving indoors in 1982 the Vikings haven't been back to the Super Bowl and have lost 3 NFC title games!
One of them at home to another Dome team! :
W L T
Overall Home Record 223 129 4
Before Moving Indoors 91 56 4
Since Moving Indoors 132 73 0
Overall Road Record 162 187 5
Before Moving Indoors 76 70 5
Since Moving Indoors 86 117 0
Both the Vikings Home and Away Records before moving indoors in 1982 is significantly better than it has been since they became a dome team.
More importantly again, its been a 31 year drought for this team in returning to the Super Bowl, 26 of those seasons have been pampered by teflon!
Enough is enough already!
When this team played outdoors and in the elements they competed just as equally on the road!
Ever since moving indoors into that outhouse called the DUMP DOME they've been a shell of their former selves!
PLAIN AND SIMPLE!
Lo there, do I see the line of my People...Back to the Beginning.
Lo do They call to me...They bid me take my Place among Them...in the Halls of VALHALLA where t
