    Vikings Sign Safety Kurt Coleman

Vikings Sign Former Eagles S Kurt Coleman

I like this! I don't watch him very much, but I like how Kurt Coleman plays. He is a starting safety in the NFL.

He WAS a starting safety. He lost his job last season. He is likely going to be a good special teams contributor for us ... but I doubt he wins the battle to line up alongside Harrison.

Coleman definitely gives us a little more depth at the position though. So I am good with that.

I expect more of these types of signings. Zimmer, I am SURE (because he has expected to be a head coach for a while now) has a list of players he thinks he can work with to make better that he wasn't able to convince his former employer to sign. Every coordinator does; its the "if I was in charge" plan and list, updated as players come and go.

Not all will pan out, but I think we will see at least 2-3 more people signed for training camp, and Zimmer will try to fix the problems they are having that prevent them from being a starter. I further expect him to succeed with 2-3 of them. I draw THAT conclusion from what I have heard other coaches say about Zimmer.
