Re: Vikings sign RB Smith
It shocks me a bit that the Vikings would bring a RB into camp considering we already have 5.
Maybe they're trying to light a fire under the other guys asses.
Bell, Johnson, and Young have all made cases why they deserve the #3 spot

Re: Vikings sign RB Smith
Did any of you guys watch Ian Johnson's video on NFL.com?
Man, it is nearly impossible not to be pulling for the guy to be 3rd on the Depth Chart.
I realllllly hope he makes the team.

Re: Vikings sign RB Smith
If this guy couldn't make the Lions, how in the h-e-double hockey sticks is he going to make the Vikings? Plus we already have Ian Johnson... Just doesn't make much sense to me. I understand he was the starter at FSU, but come on? Well, let's see what he can do before I doubt him, but I highly doubt he'll make our team. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Vikings sign RB Smith
k i thought about it and it makes a little sense to bring this guy in, hell we had the roster spot open anyway.
AD & CT aren't going anywhere, so we were left with 3 guys competing for that #3RB slot: Albert Young, Ian Johnson, & Khalil Bell.
Young with an advantage of knowing the system better, and the other two are rookies.
Two reasons to bring this kid in:
#1, light a fire under the other 3 guys asses, by bringing in another back it tells them they aren't guaranteed a damn thing, you need to EARN that roster spot.
#2, Bell has been limited in practice for a while now, hurting his chances of making the squad, Smith is taking his share of the reps
