FA has not started yet, these players we are picking up are not making the team they are players we wanted to take a closer look at.
We sign them send them to the Europe league, then they go to training camp and they get cut the 1st cut.

    What is the big deal?

Does it say in his contract he will be the starting corner?
Or does it say he will play in at least 80% of the defense plays?

So unless you know more than the rest of us you are getting upset over nothing, and if you know more please fill us in on your information.

Maybe thye think this guy has possibilities to be a special teams phenom, or maybe they think he was slowed by his previous injuries and that he is healthy now and could be a player.

Some people really need to relax about these signings before the FA starts because they are not players that will make the team they are training camp fodder.
You may be totally correct, but so far Childress has spent alot more of his energy signing players who have washed out of other teams and the league than I can remember any of our other coaches doing and so far none of these castaways has amounted to squat. It would seem to me to be more worthwhile spending your time and resources on people who don't have a track record of underachievement.

I could see if he was signing unsigned and untested players who look like they may have the tools to develop, but not washouts.

As far as the stadium, if they build it Downtown it will be a mistake. Outstate people hate dealing with driving to downtown to see games. Build it somewhere people can look forward to traveling to.

Umm, most coaches sign players this time of year to give competition for final roster spots.
I don't see why everyone is so against bringing in players to compete.
I guess it would be better to just sign these guys and give them their roster spot with a basket of candy and a pretty bow on top.

As the free agency period hasnt started yet - it isnt possible for us to sign other teams free agents.. thats why you are not seeing those kind of signings..

You mean like Jason Carter, who was an undrafted free agent signee?

No there is a difference Jason Carter was signed after the draft as an undrafted FA right out of college, this guy and the other signings are player that has played on a few teams but not made it so there is a difference.

some of these reactions are crazy.
So what, they signed a no-name for a box of cracker jacks and half a mountain dew during the time of the season when it really doesn't matter.
Sign 'em all up, put them on a winged-bus to NFLE.
    Who cares.

No difference! We signed him, he played here, then we cut him.

    Then we signed him again.
    ;D

If I'm not mistaken, this last time was the 3rd time we signed him.

    Singer give it up!

He was with the Vikes either on the active roster or the practice squad the whole frickin year, that means all 17 weeks and he has never singed with another team.

    It is not the same!

    J. Carter was cut once and had to clear waivers.
Not one other team picked him up so the Vikings added him to the practice squad again.
