Vikings sign 10 scouts

Posted on Mon, Jun. 05, 2006

    Vikings sign 10 scouts

The Vikings officially re-signed nine scouts and added another Monday morning, the team announced.

Paul Wiggin, Jeff Robinson, Frank Acevedo and Ryan Monnens are listed as pro scouts, while Frank Gilliam, Conrad Cardano, Kevin McCabe, Mike Sholiton, Jamaal Stephenson and Paul Roell are titled as regional scouts.

Roell just joined the Vikings after 15 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts as an area scout, most recently based in Kansas City, MO.

The only scout not retained was John Fitzpatrick.

The structure now has Rick Spielman as the vice president of player personnel, and Scott Studwell as director of college scouting.

Robinson, formerly the director of pro personnel, and Wiggin, formerly the senior consultant-pro personnel, are now listed as pro scouts, along with Acevedo and Monnens.

Everyone else retained the same titles.

Spielman did not make himself available for comment.

I wouldn't mind being the Caribbean scout for the Vikings. I could scope out talent on the beach. For the right price of course.

The only problem is that you would spend all of your time recruiting cheerleaders...on second thought, that's not a bad idea!!!

Sorry TNT, most scouts have to travel and work in the field, not hide in the locker room and hang out in the shower stalls......
