    The Vikings' Seventh Round

Three picks and the Vikings passed on Minnesota native Seantrel Henderson at OT?

The 7th is when you take a chance on high risk / high return players.

The guys selected ... not so much. Shamar Stephen may do well, but Henderson has much more upside than either Watts or Price.

Watts may have been drafted to move him to safety.

I doubt Price even gets drafted had the Vikings not selected him.

We are aweful in the late rounds. I have no faith in us finding players after the 3rd.

That just means we had guys playing that shouldn't be. That's the issue. Just cause they got playing time for us doesn't mean they were NFL caliber players. It's like how lost our defense looked last season. How much of that was because in practice our offense was easy to stop. I'm sure our Cbs looked amazing in practice with Ponder and Co throwing to them.

Last pro bowler we had from a late round pick minus a kicker and center ( who is on his 6th or so season).

He quit on his pro day workout and tested positive at the combine. He never exactly lit it up and was benched on a bad Miami team so it's not like your looking past all that to draft a good player. A turd is still a turd, even if its 6'7 331.

No Christian Jones... And he signs to the bears.
Amazing athlete at OLB, who can cover and rush the QB.
Worth more than the bums we picked.

Vikings could likely have drafted Jones and brought Price in as an UDFA.

Jones also failed his combine drug test.

You keep saying this ... but I would like to know all these teams that you think are doing so great in the 4th-7th rounds?

We have a very solid center who was taken in the sixth. We have a Pro Bowl kicker who was taken in the sixth. We have a starting DE who was taken in the fourth. We have a contributing WR that was taken in the fourth. A starting safety who was taken in the seventh. That is a pretty decent track record honestly.
