Vikings select RB Jerick McKinnon in 3rd round

Who'd a thunk that a thread on McKinnon would get more action than a QB thread. Jerick should be proud.

Getting back to my original post that started all this... actually think McKinnon is a good pickup and he'll be better in the long term over Dri Archer.

Still think we could use a pass-catching RB out of the backfield like Archer (especially with a weak-armed QB like Bridgewater) but McKinnon is starting to win me over. The guy seems like a beast.

I actually think that McKinnon came out of all his workouts with the reputation as being more than capable of catching passes. Which makes me like him all the more. I think he is going to be a very important part of this offense from day 1.

I agree, should be fun to watch this kid play. Think he'll surprise a lot of people this season, as will the entire Vikings team.

We just signed Barr and Bridgewater... starting to get pumped for the season.

Really? I thought McKinnon had weak legs.

Well, not "weak" as in not strong, but weak-er than the other RBs he was being compared to, except not really. But kinda.

    Which is EXACTLY my point.

Bridgewater had one of the strongest arms of all QB's tested during the Sports Center Sports Science test. Those tests have some subjective elements, but Bridgewater had the most speed on his throws.

McKinnon is fast, but I do not see many hard NFL cuts in his film. He does follow his blockers.

Isn't that the same Sports Science that said Ponder had the strongest arm a couple years back? Um... yeah....

I STILL have no clue as to what point you are trying to make on Bridgewater. You refuse to articulate it specifically, and just make snide mocking comments to anyone who adds something to the discussion.

I'm not even sure in Minniman's comment contradicted or confirmed your original point, mainly because I don't know what your original point IS.

It's hard to be wrong when you keep it as vague as possible, I guess.
