    Thanks for the clip Hey.

I'm wondering why Leslie is tapping Webb to be the number 2 this weekend. Ponder sure has seemed to be the better "Thrower" doing nothing that would make one think he is the number 3.

Are they protecting him a bit to much perhaps?
Not so sure I agree with you here. To me, Webb has been the one moving the team down the field and putting them in scoring position. Albeit against 3rd/4th string. To me Ponder has shown he can run out of the pocket and seems to pass better in that capacity. However, IMO his pocket passes have been highly inaccurate so far.

I hear a lot of "Ponder looks great" but sorry I haven't seen it yet. I'm not saying he's terrible. I like his presence and confidence. However, I'd like to see him more comfortable in the poocket. He seems to throw the ball way too quick and misses his target. Could be because the OL has been dreadful so I want to give him the benefit of the doubt. But back to the point, I don't think Ponder has beaten out Webb at all. I see it the other way around thus far.
I watched Ponder move our second string offense down the field against Seattle's first string defense and we got a field goal out of it. That is more than what Webb has done so far.
Forgive me if I'm wrong here but isn't Webb the QB that had the only scoring drive in game 1? Also, didn't Webb drive the Vikings down the field on two drives in game 2? 1 TD was knocked out of Arceneaux' arms.

I am not saying I'm dissappointed in ponder. He's only a rookie with minimal practice as Hey said. But let's call it as we see it regardless of how optomistic we are with Ponder. He has not looked great yet in the pocket. Sorry but that is what I've seen. To me Webb has done better in the preseason. Not saying he's been great but better than Ponder so far IMO. Hopefully Ponder plays well and I could STFU.

I almost forgot to throw in that Ponder had the ball deep in the opponents territory twice in game 1 and couldn't punch it in. That was a little disappointing especially after the great return. Again just an observation. I'm not trying to say Ponder has done terrible but he hasn't been as great as people are making it out to be.
Webb has looked good at times but he has been facing second and third string defenses. I credit him for having success against them but as I said the way Ponder moved our 2nd string offense against Seattle's starters just seems more impressive.

I'll also add that I am biased against QB's that look to run as often as Webb does. Yes I know Ponder has ran often but the kid keeps his head up with an intent on passing first, running second. Webb reminds me more of Daunte in that he makes 2 reads then takes off.[/quote]

Sans the fumble at the end of every other run.
I haven't seen much of the preseason but I hope that isn't the case. Hopefully Webb is learning to read through progressions. That was my second biggest bitch about Daunte. Not having the ability to read through. Check the first option, then check down or run.
I did see that TD run by Webb though. He looked amazingly fast on that run. I also am not a fan of running QB's, but sonofabich, he was fast.
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.

    You're right. I can't find a quote with you calling him T-Joke.

    What about Culpepper? Sage?

Wasn't it you who called Brett, Favrealicious? LOL!

I have a man love for Culpepper. He is the reason, also Moss, why I became a Vikings fan. You know that. Sage was ok. I was not in love like Zeus but he was ok.

    Brett is Favrealicious.

He is incredibly fast. In terms of scrambling and keeping a play alive he is special. You cannot question his athletic ability - he is up there with AD and Harvin.

I just know that in this league teams will eventually start putting a LB to spy on QB's that are more successful running and Webb has to continue to improve in his ability to read defenses. Hopefully he proves me wrong and becomes a legit starting quarterback.

Yep, Zeus did love Sage. I came across this quote of yours when searching.

Actually I want TJ to beat him out. Two reasons. To shut up Zeus and I am in love with running QBs.
He was also big on Quinn. Remember this quote?

I think Ponder did pretty well in the 2 drives this past game. The bad snap ruined the first drive. The last drive he did well I thought in the 2 minute offense. It's ashame Reisner couldn't get out of bounds for that final play. Iwould have loved to see him take one last shot.

Webb did well too. While I agree I'm not a big fan of QBs taking off after 1 or 2 reads you can't put this guy down for doing so. His runs are outstanding. The way he avoids tackles is impressive. I would like to see Iglesias get the ball more. I think that kid has a lot of talent so I wish there were more passing. I think it's kind of difficult though when the QBs are running for thier lives almost every play. I think our backup OL is terrible. Hopefully our 1st string stays healthy this year. They were actually pretty impressive this past game IMO.
