Vikings @ Seahawks - Preseason Week 2 - Post Game
The offence is looking better, but I wanna see them score some TDs.

I like how our defense was playing today, nice pick 6. I liked how we were actually laying the wood and slamming people. Good aggressiveness tonight.

Re: Vikings @ Seahawks - Preseason Week 2 - Post Game
I was pretty happy with almost all things Vikings tonight. I thought the first teams on offense and defense looked pert good.
I think that Ponder and Webb both look more than capable of being solid backups no matter which order that they end up in.
I was VERY impressed in Toby tonight. I think hie could be pretty valuable to us.
I also have noticed that the WR battle is going to be intense all the way to the end. Berrian, Harvin and Jenkins are locks. But the last two spots will be very interesting. Jaymar, Arceneaux, Camarillo, Aromashodu and Iglesias have all done good things in camp and in game play, but only two of them will stick around. My money is kind of on Jaymar and Aromashodu ... But I think Iglesias is really making things interesting.

Only problem I had was the early sack and a couple of oline penalties

But I'll add to the positives, really liked the line movement on some of the running plays and the TE motions to help with the protections. Had some concerns that the oline would be worse

Nice win tonight. Overall, defense looked pretty good. As for the offense...I hope we can score a little more often when the season starts.

If Sherels can make the team and take over punt returns, i think Aromashodu and Iglesias could take the last 2 spots.. Johnson could be in trouble..
Did you see the speed on Sherels on that pick? wow..

Re: Vikings @ Seahawks - Preseason Week 2 - Post Game
Pretty satisfied with first team offense and defense tonight.
The O..
Moved the ball well, solid play from #5, some very nice blocking by Jenkins, also a nice grab, Toby and Booker did well, Booker needs to hold onto the ball but other than that was good.
A missed assignment from Johnson i think got McNabb sacked, an area for clear improvement.
Not overly concerned about the redzone failure as i think with the full first wr's and shianc etc we'll be fine.
The D..
Nice pressure on TJoke, looked good against the run, was great to see Ced back and making a nice play, was also nice to see the goal line stand as well. Awasom looks a good prospect, certainly gave himself a shot at making the roster.
Always nice to get a win but seeing TJoke get creamed by Awasom and "one season" having very little impact made it a lil sweeter

Re: Vikings @ Seahawks - Preseason Week 2 - Post Game
The offense started out shaky but did get going better by the second quarter. As to the QB's, McNabb had one fairly good drive that stalled in the red zone but otherwise I am having a hard time seeing how he is going to be a step up from either Webb or Ponder, who I think are both improving steadily. If McNabb wasn't taking their reps I think they would be even farther along than they are at this point but I digress.
Ponder looks better every week and it is nice to see him out there moving around and looking to make things happen. What I like about Webb is he is always looking down field. Even under pressure he is looking to make a play down field with his arm first and is pretty darn good at getting the ball to a WR if he can. That is my biggest knock on Jackson. He just doesn't seem to have the natural ability or mentality to get the ball down the field to keep the chains moving and tends to take too may sacks and plays for little or no gain for my taste. I like what I see in our young guys and I really hope they continue to develop Webb at QB rather than converting him to WR.

Re: Vikings @ Seahawks - Preseason Week 2 - Post Game
The starting offense looked better this week, but still failed to put up 7 points for a 2nd consecutive week, stalling twice in the redzone.
Still seeing the CRE in Frazier & wonder WTF he's doing. He calls time out before the half, giving Ponder 56 seconds to work with & then has him throw short 5 yd dunk passes rather than trying to go down field for a scoring opportunity. Preseason is the perfect opportunity to do that. What was the purpose of the timeout?

His was practicing his 2 minute timeout drill.
