Vikings release receiver Bates

The Vikings released receiver D'Wayne Bates today, ending a disappointing two-year stint with the team.

Signed to be a No. 2 receiver, Bates was injured often and never became the complement to Randy Moss the team wanted him to become. Bates' future with the Vikings became doomed when they signed his former Chicago teammate Marcus Robinson to be Moss' sidekick last week.

Obviously he had no future with the Vikes, but I hoped we can trade him.

Its no big loss losing him. I think Robinson will do much better in his position. Bates was a dece reciever, but he is well past his prime, we still have a chance at catching some of his best games.

WTF are you getting at???? Are you trying to say Brewer wasn't released? If so, here's an article to prove he was.
