Receiver Sidney Rice made a leaping catch in the back of the end zone during practice Tuesday as a defender attempted to cover him. "Did you get two? Did you get two?" coach Brad Childress asked....

Does anyone have the exact wording of this rule?

I'm glad the defense finally got a rule in their favor.

I was sure the league was going to have DB's tie a hand behind their back soon.

Rule changes in the WR's and QB's favor is why most of the new passing records are a joke.

More or less, short of being physically carried out of bounds by a defender, the WR must get 2 feet down for the catch to count.

So... we would have made the playoffs a couple years ago? When we "Pushed out" the cardinals player?

No, we would have just had to come up with a different way to lose.

You mean the Cardinals player that needed the 80 foot long legs to have gotten one down if the Vikes Defender hadn't just lightly nudged him?
The game I was at in AZ over Christmas?
The game that once again proved just how much the Vikes can break the hearts of their fans?

If that's the game you're referring to, yes... we would have won and made the playoffs.

"A lot of the rules help offense because they want high-scoring games because the fans love to see points," Berrian said. "So the defense obviously is getting a cheer out of this one. It helps them out a little bit to even it up."

Re: Vikings receivers adjust to league's new force-out rule

This is a rule that should have been implemented a long long time ago. If you don't come down in bounds, then you are out of bounds. Pretty simple I think.
Nice to see that the Vikes coaches and wideouts are actually working on paying attention to it and not just "winging it."
