In a franchise that has had some pretty good pass-catching Carters in Anthony and Cris, rookie free agent Jason Carter has been impressive in workouts, making a nice deep catch on Friday, then diving to grab a couple of short passes Saturday morning.
“I’m trying to get everything I can right now,†said Carter, who made 102 receptions for 1,467 yards and six touchdowns during a four-year career at Texas A&M. “I’m getting a lot of reps. I know when the veterans get here, I’m going to have to learn by watching.
“I feel like I’m off to a good start.â€Â
Though Carter’s chances of making the final roster seem slim  with veterans Koren Robinson, Marcus Robinson, Travis Taylor and Williamson among those ahead of him on the depth chart  the 6-foot, 205-pound Carter said watching those players work throughout the summer has been important.
“He catches the ball, he’s eager to learn,†Bevell said. “He’s all ears when the coaches are speaking, and you can see him carry it over to the field.â€Â

I am sure if he is that eager, we can find a spot for him somewhere. Maybe kick-off's or something.

I agree.. Any player that comes in with a great work habit will for sure find a place on the team in some kind of capacity.. Who knows, he could be our next KO returner..

Probably still gonna lose out in the numbers game...too bad...it's always the hard workers that still get cut while some of the slackers with mega-talent still get to hang around!

Re: Vikings receiver Jason Carter impresses
He sounds like a solid receiver for this kind of offense we're running. You know who I worry about? Koren, b/c he's a big playmaker and now we have a shorter passing game both in design and by the arm of B.J. so I wonder how he'll fare, if this scheme bodes well for him or not....

I wouldnt be worried, pretty much any WR can fit into any offense.Koren is a number 1 type WR, I'm not worried about him at all.
