Vikings re-sign Gophers WR Paris Hamilton
Roster move

Between practices, the Vikings signed former Gophers WR Paris Hamilton, who spent time with them during spring drills as well. Hamilton took the roster spot of C/G Dan Mozes, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Friday night’s practice against Kansas City...

Re: Vikings re-sign Gophers WR Paris Hamilton
They picked this guy up from the practice squad of the Lions. He's never played in a game. He's was injured so his senior season with the Minnesota Gophers was a lousy one. What the heck are the Vikings thinking? Are they that hard up for receivers?

There's 20 guys from the now defunct NFL Europa that are much better choices than him.
With all that young, raw talent coming up, I don't think he's got a chance.
However, I'm a big Gophers fan, so I'll wish him luck.

Re: Vikings re-sign Gophers WR Paris Hamilton
honestly it doesnt matter lol. theres what 89 people on the vikings roster right now?
i guarantee they brought in a WR because thats the position that needs to improve the most from last year (even more then our pass defense & pass rush). Bringing in more competition for that is never a bad thing
no matter who they picked up, isn't making the team lol, especially coming in this late in camp.
Doesn't help that we have 10 recievers already too =)
Jason Carter
Justin Surrency
Aundrae Allison
Martin Nance
Cortez Hankton
Sidney Rice
Bobby Wade
Troy Williamson
Todd Lowber
Chandler Williams
and now 11, Paris Hamilton.

And that sucks about Dan Mozes...I had high hopes that we would groom him as Birk's eventual replacement.

1. all these young no namers (i include TWill too..) will build off of competition and we will finally have a strong core of receivers
2. all of these no namers will reamain no namers..
which do you think is more likely to happen?i m better than you, so just give up...

Re: Vikings re-sign Gophers WR Paris Hamilton
i think we'll have a solid group. i've been to training camp about 8 times so far and im liking what im seeing with them progressing
like i said in my training camp post, Nance surprised the hell out of me today, played very strong.
Allison & Rice have been solid all camp, and Surrency & Williams have had a couple good days too
Wade & T-Will need to step it up if they want to be our #1 & #2, hopefully these young guys knocking will help
Btw, its 12 recievers, not 11, correcting myself, i forgot about Billy McMullen since he's been injured

There was a camp spot opening up because Mozes went down with the knee injury.
They have been short stacked at receiver after many small injuries to a bunch of guys. They made a logic move of bringing in someone that had been around for OTAs to take some snaps in camp.
Thanks to PPE for the sig.
