Vikings To Raise Ticket Prices
Sid Hartman from the Sstar/Tribune has the following in his column today...
Being 31st or 32nd in the NFL in total revenue (either just ahead or behind Oakland), the Vikings will definitely raise ticket prices for the 2008 season, but how big an increase hasn't been decided. The 2008 schedule is impressive with the Super Bowl-bound New York Giants and last year's Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts on the home schedule.Kentucky Vikes Fan

Re: Vikings To Raise Ticket Prices
Gotta make a buck somehow.
Can't get a new stadium with corporate boxes so the average fan will have to suck it up a bit.
Tickets probably won't be the only thing that takes a hike.
I'm gonna have to take a loan out this year when I come home just for the beer tab.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

The Vikings have not announced that they will raise ticket prices, so putting a subject up that says they ARE going to do so is false.
Sid reports his feelings as facts.
I don't doubt that they will, but it's still only speculation until any new pricing structure is revealed.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: Vikings To Raise Ticket Prices
Maybe they will, and maybe they won't.
Certainly the emergence of Adrian Peterson this past season, as well as the late season playoff run, improved the public's outlook on the Vikings.
At the same time, the Vikings lost a TON of season ticket holders last offseason.
They had to enlist the help of local companies several times last season to buy up the last 1000-2000 tickets to keep the sellout streak going.
The last two home games sold out without any help (at least I think), but the Chicago game usually sells out, and a Sunday night game against the Redskins that was essentially a playoff game (win and they advance to the playoffs) helped sell that game out.
With the Vikings dropping their final two, who knows what the public's outlook is on the 2008 Vikings?
One thing is for sure...Adrian Peterson alone, even after he was breaking records, wasn't selling out the Metrodome.
I'll really be wondering about the price of my "cheap seats"
I had the $19.61 upper deck specials, and that actually represented a price cut of about 40% from the previous season.
Had Zygi not done that, I probably wouldn't have renewed my season seats...both from not having the money last year combined with a generally poor outlook of the team in late January.
Adding to that is that he expanded the upper deck cheap seats by a couple of sections, and I actually relocated my seats into one of those sections.
If he goes and raises my seats back to what those seats cost in 2006, I may well drop them and look at buying the dreaded limited view seats....and that is only to assure that I get a chance to buy playoff tickets at face price and have a shot at Super Bowl tickets if the Vikings ever make it there again.SKOL VIKINGS!

Sid also said Drew Brees was going to sign here.

Re: Vikings To Raise Ticket Prices
I put a deposit down just yesterday for 4 season tickets($100). I was thinking they would be $200 a seat. Hopefully they don't go up too much.
:-\ I plan on selling the Packer tickets for atleast $100 each so that will help pay for the rest. I will probably also try to sell some on here closer to the season(at cost of course).

(is that a punter or a Safety)
Thats the Kluwe bump. Kluwe draws so much national attention he draws fans to the dome regardless of price.

Re: Vikings To Raise Ticket Prices
I'm sorry, but if you had a team last year that had troubles selling out there games without help from corporations buying the rest of the tickets out, how smart is it really to raise the prices?
