On a side note, the Vikings recievers will wear Silver and Honalulu Blue uniforms to increase their chances of having the ball thrown to them.

    ;D

I haven't heard either way just wondering if you could elaborate more.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

    Re: Vikings: Which QB? It's a toss-up

    Adam Shefters take:

Vikings coach Brad Childress went to bed Sunday night wondering the same thoughts so many coaches have had this season, and the one baseball managers face in late innings.

    Who gets the ball?

If Brooks Bollinger were healthy, he probably would. But Bollinger sprained the AC joint in his left shoulder and it's thought that he will not be ready for Sunday's game at Detroit. This leaves Childress choosing between the turnover-prone veteran Brad Johnson or the inexperienced rookie second-round pick Tarvaris Jackson.

The Vikings may soon turn to Tarvaris Jackson out of necessity.
The Vikings may soon turn to Tarvaris Jackson out of necessity.

Were Minnesota not alive in the wild-card race -- and no matter how unlikely it seems, it still is -- then Jackson would be the easy choice. But because the Vikings still are chasing a postseason spot, then the thinking around the league is that Childress will go back to Johnson, especially at a time when Jackson has admitted that he's not ready to start a game.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

The intelligent thing to do would be to start BJ. If he shows signs of repeating that mess that was the last half of the last game, pull him and put in Bollinger. If Bollinger is hurt I'd wait a little longer to go to Tavaris. I find it interesting that some fans on here are now blaming the drops (passes that have hit the receivers in the hands) are now the fault of Brad's inability to get it in their hands the right way. Please, people, don't let your dislike impair your grasp on reality.

    T. Jackson is a class act right down the line. I sure hope he has success. The kid is so refreshing compared to all the whiners and egomaniacs you hear from in the NFL.

    Re: Vikings: Which QB? It's a toss-up

I am still hesitant to believe that tarvaris is the best option right now, but i thought of something last night watching the game.
It was an off-target pass of about 20-22 yards.
the ball had enough 'zip' that it wasn't automatically an interception however.
When brad misses on a pass over 8 yards, its usually trouble because it has little velocity.
At least tarvaris has the arm strength that it wont be a floater and could hit a receiver with some timing.

On a side note, that longer pass he connected on in the bears game was great.
he moved around the pocket, then with a flick of the wrist that ball was out of there and perfect.
If that is a sign of things to come, he certainly has the potential he all have discussed to become a good qb.

    Re: Vikings: Which QB? It's a toss-up

I just heard the podcast of Chilldres' interview on KFAN from yesterday.

I think it is clear that he just hasn't made up his mind.

He said that he would still have to go over his notes, and think about what QB would give him the best chance to win the last 4 games.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.
