Re: Vikings pull only trade at trade deadline!

He left a game early to get a second opinion on his injured hand?

He also missed all of his minicamps so he could go to a weight loss clinic. Some other junk too.

sweet. wasnt he in the pro bowl awhile ago?

when does he get to suit up?

and just because he was in the doghouse, doesnt mean he's a trouble maker.

Isn't minicamp a type of "weight loss clinic" in itself. That kind of makes me nervous!

Better wait to see what he does for us before I pass judgement but reading some of his problems sure conjures up images of a 350 pound crybaby.

Re: Vikings pull only trade at trade deadline!

Looks like we got ourselves an all-pro lineman boys! Hope he stays healthy.

Had Drew Brees not had such a phenomenal year in 2004, people might very easily have mentioned the name Toniu Fonoti (TONE-u Foe-no-TEE) when discussing NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

After sitting out the 2003 season with a foot injury, Toniu returned to the field in 2004 more determined than ever. He started every game and finished the season as an All-Pro. Toniu’s devastating blocks filled the highlight reels as he helped pave the way for the league’s sixth-ranked rushing offense. As a unit, the Chargers offensive line surrendered only 21 sacks in 2004, fourth-fewest in the NFL.
Toniu began his professional career wearing number 71, but last year he switched to 77, the number he wore as a collegian at Nebraska.

A huge man on the field, Fonoti is otherwise a gentle giant. He is a devout family man who enjoys spending time with his wife, U’ilani, and the couple’s daughter, Fetogi. Toniu wears a tattoo on his left arm bearing Fetogi’s name. His younger brother, Taualai, is a senior outside linebacker at Stanford.

TRANSACTION HISTORY: Selected by Chargers in second round (39) of NFL Draft, April 20, 2002.

2004: First-team All-Pro by SportsIllustrated.com... selected to USA Today’s All-Joe Team... named Chargers Alumni Player of Week along with fellow starting offensive linemen following Week 11 win at Kansas City... started Weeks 1-16 and Wild Card Playoff game at left guard.

2003: Spent season on “Reserve-Injured list with foot injury... placed on list Aug. 31.

2002: Selected to Football Digest’s All-Rookie Team... started Weeks 1 and 4-16 at right guard... saw reserve duty at Arizona Week 3... inactive for Houston game Sept. 15 with shoulder injury.

YES!!! He is really good. Anyone who can make Drew Brees into a pro-bowler by blocking and can run block for LT is good in my book. Great trade. He is playing Goldberg/johnson's position then, right?

Nebraska huh? Where was he from originally anyone know. Maybe he just needs to get back to breathing some good midwestern air to get his game on again, and get his mind right.
