He's going to want a big fat contract like he wanted from the Chargers at the end of the year. If he pans out Wilf & Rob will get it done.

It just dawned on me that after reading the KICK AZZ VIKING STATEMENT thread, that we might have traded for this guy knowing that McKinnie was involved in this Pleasure Cruise.

We must be putting the axe to one of the linemen. :shock:

I find it hard to believe we cut someone like that, but it could happen. Wilf HAS to put his money where his mouth was a few days ago when he was kissing and lubing MN politician ass. :shock: :shock: :shock:

The Minnesota Vikings have completed a trade with the San Diego Chargers for 4th-year offensive guard Toniu Fonoti (pronounced TONE-u Foe-no-TEE), a former 2nd-round draft pick by the Chargers. The Vikings acquired Fonoti for an undisclosed choice in the 2006 NFL Draft.

Fonoti has started 32 of 33 games he has played in his career. He spent the 2003 season on injured reserve. During his career he has helped pave the way for Chargers All-Pro RB LaDainian Tomlinson to break the 100-yard mark 13 times and go over 200 yards rushing twice. In 2004 Fonoti started all 16 games regular season games and helped the Chargers advance to the playoffs for the first time since the 1995 Wild Card berth. The 2004 AFC West title for San Diego was the first since 1994.

He has started at both LG and RG during his career and started the opening 2 games of 2005 at LG for the Chargers. As a rookie, was named to Football Digest's All-Rookie team, was tabbed as a 1st-Team All-Pro by SportsIllustrated.com in 2004 and earned a spot on USA Today's All-Joe Team which recognizes hard-working, overlooked players.

"Toniu brings great size and the type of attitude we like to have with our offensive linementough, tenacious and powerful," said Vikings Head Coach Mike Tice.

YES!!! This guy is a Monster. He is young too, so we might have him for awhile depending on how we handle his contract next season.

Good point Snow, we may be bracing for an O-Lineman (a.k.a. Mckinnie) to get in some deep diddely.......

With all the cap space opening up next year, we might get a O-Lineman in FA also...
