Seifert's genius shines through yet again.

Actually, this isn't a bad article from Seifert.
He made a good point about how two differnet 10-6 scenarios last year would have meant different things inthe playoffs.
Weird.
I am not used to seeing a Seifert column that doesn't blast the Vikings...
This one was actually talking about te Vikes making the playoffs, and even had a slight (very slight) positve spin to it...

When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

The next two games are against top 10 teams, they will be tough matches.
No doubt.
The Vikings just have to take care of business the rest of the way out.
He does remind us that intradivisional games and intraconference games are more important for determining tie-breakers.
The Bears' weakness is their QB, contrary to many of the pundits' opinions.
They also have a tough stretch coming up on the road before the Vikings match up with them again as Soldier Field.
The Vikings still have a chance at winning outright on W/Ls.
It is possible, but they will need to win for that to happen.
Based on the schedule, the next two games will have a strong influence on whether or not the Vikings are playing for the Wildcard or playing for the NFCN title.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain

We play in the NFC, and that helps us out by default. 8-8 can squeak you in sometimes. In reality if we lose the next two it could end up fine. As long as your team is firing on all cyliniders come the end of the season when it really matters.

Re: Vikings: Playoff push makes some games more important
True, it all depends on how it plays out, obviously.
The Bears could easily have a midseason collapse either natually or due to injury (so could any team).
The bottom-line is that the Vikings will just have to keep taking care of business and improving, I see no reason why that won't happen.
I would much rather see a struggling team early in the season that improves than a team that starts out at 6-0 and then doesn't make the playoffs due to a loss to the Cardinals...that was pathetic.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain
