    Vikings Player You Would Duplicate

I just got a funny idea from a quote from Leslie Frazier.
Chad is one of those guys you wouldn’t mind having 53 of
I think you know where I'm going with this.

Imagine that you have to choose one player from the the whole Minnesota Vikings roster, clone him 52 times, and play with the same 53 players on one team. Which player would you choose to duplicate?

In other words for those who have a difficult time understanding the question: If you had to choose one Vikings player and start him in all the positions, who would you pick?

    And why?

PS: I had to narrow down the poll as it only allows four options. Sorry!

I would have to say AP, although its close between him and Harvin. Each have a burning desire and attitude to be great. What distinguishes AP for me is that no matter it seems that you get his best effort every time. He may not make every play but to me effort and desire are what its all about. That is not to knock anyone else on the list, I just feel AP stands head and shoulders above the rest.

This was incredibly easy to answer.

    E. None of the above.

None of these guys could stand up to the constant punishment that linemen take. We would lose every single game by a mile.

Of course that's true for anyone, but the question is really just silly.

But... hypothetically, if it ever really came down to that, I think I'd go with Percy. Best all-around athlete, IMO, and he can throw the ball.

Jimmy Kleinsasser is virtually a lineman. Plus, he can catch and run a little.

True enough, and I almost went that way. I assume that is why you included him.

Where is T-Jack? I would love to see the Jump-Block, the Jump-Field Goal and the Jump-Punt Return.

Re: Vikings Player You Would Duplicate

The first thing that came to mind was one word: VERSATILITY.

So who's the most versatile player on the Vikings? Here's my top five:

Percy Harvin - Does WR, RB and KR as good as almost anyone. Plus, great speed and explosiveness is valued at every position.

Joe Webb - Has not seen much of him, but he sure can pass and run. Plus, he has played receiver a lot and I heard he has good hands. I also think I heard some of the coaches say that he is the most athletic guy on the team and his combine numbers are through the roof. Always a great foundation.

Sidney Rice - As we all know, Rice is a great receiver, but he also has a good throwing arm as he played QB in high school. Plus, he does a nice job run blocking.

Chad Greenway - Can really only play linebacker, but the linebacker position is a very versatile job in itself. It requires a combination of skills from both linemen and defensive backs. Plus, he played running back in high school. (Chad was the one Frazier said he could have 53 players of too)

Jimmy Kleinsasser - If linebackers are the versatility of the defense, tight ends must be the most versatile position on offense. Kleinsasser has decent receiving skills and he blocks like a lineman.

When it all comes down to it, I think I have to go with either a linebacker or a tight end since they are not too small or too big. The kicker or the punter would probably be my last option.

I am sure AP could block for himself, so that would work out well.

    Harvin

    The work ethic is amazing.

When the Vikes we laying down, he kept going hard.

The guy is a tough SOB. How many times have we seen him get up slow or limping...then come right back and punch them in the mouth.

That's a warrior right there folks, give us 11 of him on Offense.
