The impetus for this post comes from, of all places, Mile High Report.
Apparently the good folks over there were looking in the Broncos media guide about how teams have performed since the AFL/NFL merger, and they seemed to be surprised by how consistent the Vikings have been since that merger....

that's cause since the merger..

only the farve years have been good to them..

It is good to see that we have maintained a very solid average.. and it does help to know that we are moving toward another of those.. era's of winning!!!
and it's always kewl to get recognition from outside the MN area!!

The big rub is that Pitt, Miami, Dallas, and Denver all have the SB rings.

As for "tortured fan" card, I would say "frustrated" more than tortured.

The Cardinal fans are tortured, they don't even know what a hill looks like as they are perpetually in the swamp.

I lived in AZ for 22 years and I just feel sorry for Card fans... 1 playoff win in 59 years.

How about Detroit ? The Falcons are also pretty gawd-aweful over the decades.

No contest!

Detroit over the same 59 year period went to the playoffs 13 times and won 6 games

Atlanta in only 41 years have been to the playoffs, 8 times, won 6 games, and went to a SB.

Cards 4 trips to playoffs only 1 win...

Even the Bengals in 39 years have been to the playoffs 8 times, won 5 games, and been to 2 SB's

I don't think there is a team with a worse history than the Cards....
