The Vikings' oft-scrutinized offensive line had an unfortunate show of solidarity on Aug. 6 that highlighted a glaring problem from the 2006 season....

It's nice to see a little effort put into an article.
I sure hope this issue gets resolved, the source of many problems.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain

Re: Vikings paying for their penalties
"Vikings coach Brad Childress stresses to his players the importance of being sound at the things that don't require talent, so mistakes attributed to a lack of concentration and discipline are intolerable".
We have a year in this new system, so there should be less thinking out on the field and everyone should know their assignments. This alone should keep us from shooting ourself's in the foot. We cannot have drives stall because of mental mistakes. Good stuff Singer thanks.

Re: Vikings paying for their penalties
Nice read my friend.
I can remember my football coach saying a couple things about penalties......
Holding by the OL......"Drive Killer"
Roughing the QB........"Someone better get that QB on his jiggly butt early or your all running gassers."
I for one, probably because of that forget about Defensive penalties and chalk them up as hustling.
OL penalities I hate.
Notice the comment by one of thier most knowledgable readers in the comments section......
that's putting it mildly J.S......its past my bedtime but i'll continue my rant in the morning. go queensMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Vikings paying for their penalties
I was reading the other day that other teams have tried this but quit because the players get overly tired and then seem to make more mistakes or get hurt.

Re: Vikings paying for their penalties
Go figure! As the offense lined up, a lineman moved prematurely three times in less than eight plays. First Ryan Cook. Then Anthony Herrera. And finally, Artis Hicks. After each false start, the player immediately and dejectedly jogged to the far goalpost and back.
Del will have a hoot with this!
