Vikings past first round picks (flops & nuts)

With all this C-Pepp (& Bennett) trade talk (not that I'm for it) but I'm beginning to think about our past No. 1 draft picks (if any can be accounted for as real number 1's?)....

It seems like it all started by Denny taking a wacko suicide machine from Michigan State (Da-me-retreat-us underwear).

So... think back (besides Moss who has departed) who have we (kept) that was a first round pick that produces like one???

Our 05 picks?... jury is out on them until next year.
Robert Smith, yes but shortlived and he rather play with test tubes (and he did).
    K. Williams, yes of course

BUT who else??? can anybody dig some out.

I can only think of our first rounders as second rounders or later at best. I see praise on Scott Studwells part all the time. Show me please these quality first rounders producing at that level.

The really sad thing is that if Demetrius would have just stayed on his meds, he could have been a BEAST!!! But NO, the dumb bass couldn't remember to medicate...not even to make millions!!!

Probably the closest we have (Active) but I still grade him as 2nd round material. (I like him, don't get me wrong but speedy D-ends can get around him too easily)

The thing is you could go through EVERY single team in the NFL and make a list of first round busts. The reasoning for me anyway is that College football and professional football are two different sports all together. There are no sure things for any team.

Was looking to see what round we took DE Alexander (couldn't find it right away), but here are a couple:

    Dwayne Rudd LB 97'
    Clemons DE 96'

I agree with Del, Every team has its share of first round busts (especially the Brown and Bengals).

I have to say that K-Will and McKinnie have played like first round picks since they got here. McKinnie was a little slow to develop but has been our best lineman this year (only given up 1 sack I believe).

Hovan and Bennett looked like good first round picks for a season or two.

Culpepper/Moss were definitely good first round picks.

I expect Williamson to develop into a star, the jury is still out on James who hasn't really gotten much playing time.

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

Look at the Browns 1st round picks since '99 when they came back to Cleveland. Talk about busts!

You can't grade a pro as a first of second rounder, there are all pro sixth rounders and unemployed first rounders. a college player oculd be described as second round talent, But Mckinnie can't be second round material since he isnt going into the draft, you have nothing to compare him against. thats how that all works, you compare playeres to players in the same draft class and of the same position to determine what their "round material" is.
