Vikings: Once again, it'll be 'As the QB Turns'
Once again, it'll be 'As the QB Turns'
Last offseason, the Vikings had to figure out who would be under center after they got rid of Daunte Culpepper. This offseason ... we can anticipate more of the same.

it seems that the bucs like simms so i think he's getting a new contract.my personal choice would be Bledsoe or Plummer. with a better receiving squad next year we again would be in a playoff race
Rosie O'Donnell is a dude!

NOT BLEDSOE. He had TO and Glenn along with Julius Jones and couldn't get the job done. We need someone on the rise, not the fall. No more Brad type QB's.
I say make a run for Simms and Schaub. Simms would be a nice choice but with Schaub we would end up losing draft picks, maybe a first even.

Re: Vikings: Once again, it'll be 'As the QB Turns'
I actually just thought of something. Would anyone like to see Troy Smith in purple? He's predicted to fall to the 2nd round or maybe even 3rd. We could easily make a move and grab Troy Smith in the 2nd round. Plus it would make it a lot easier for him to play for us because of his draft status.. sure he won the heisman but he would be off of a lot of radars if he dropped to the 2nd.

ofcourse i'd wanted TJ to start but that won't happend right?
so i just think there are better options than BJ like Plummer, but Bollinger can't start next year, he isn't that goodRosie O'Donnell is a dude!

I disagree totally. Both of those QB's are young & still have a lot of years in them. Are you suggesting we unload T-Jack or make him ride the pine for years to come as a back-up?

We need to get a decent interim QB to bide the time until TJ is ready, who may or may not become a back-up when T-Jack is ready or if he turns out to be just mediocre.

I still expect TJ to start next year... especially if he ends up seeing time time under center at the end of this season.
Who we will be looking for is his backup...Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Re: Vikings: Once again, it'll be 'As the QB Turns'
I don't see the Vikes investing to much money in a QB just to have him as our starter for a year or two.. Tarvaris Jackson is our QB of the future, and when he is ready, he will be the starter.. I just hope he is ready soon, I can't go through another season like this year..

Talk about a QB controversy that would be. What's wrong with keeping Bollinger. HE's an upgrade from BJ and he knows the system.
