The Vikings Offensive Line is a Bleeping Mess

The general consensus after the first preseason game is that the Vikings‘ offensive line looks about as stout as a group of fourth graders attempting to protect their school from a 50-ft tsunami by standing in front of it with their arms interlocked. Yes it was that brutal at times. I don’t want to suggest Steve Hutchinson looked washed-up on that one 3rd-and-short play, but the only other time I remember a grown man going backward that fast it was because he got too close to a jet engine.

I know the offensive line is not a strong point. But it is not nearly as bad as a) many around here would have you believe or b) the problems from preseason game 1 would indicate.

Obviously, Herrera appearing to be getting close to game shape is a HUGE lift. But all in all, we are not as bad as the Bears or the Lions ... which is good for the division. And there are a handful of other lines around the league that are not that good.

I think we definitely could be better here, but we also are not going to be god awful. It is going to be run of the mill. Which means the bad will stick out a lot.

He'll tell us once again that the OL is fine, that cat Musgrave has it all in control & to have faith in the FO pukes.

My personal opinion is that it's never been close to as good as it was when Stringer & Dixon where here. It's been a mess 2005 to present.

Why would I say either things......?

I've been saying since draft day that these yutzs don't have a clue when it comes to what they want to do on the OL this year.

What I have said is that even though most on here claim the OL was crap last year, it really wasn't as it graded out pretty high with 3 backups in there for a good share of the year.

Couple of real good articles that use "Profootballfocus" as their ref that were posted earlier on this site that alot of people ignored......

I would not be shocked if Raymond and Abdullah are our starting safeties by the end of the year. Both, at least to me, play more instinctual than Johnson and Sanford.

Our starters should be Sanford and Raymond. Period. Best safeties on our roster, whether or not the coaching staff recognizes that is the only question.
