Bullshit.
It would be nice to have him healthy, but, he is replaceable.
replaceable by who exactly?

That's where you are wrong. Most speed guys demand a 2nd man over the top. BB is probably the best of the speedster WRs. Team typically will never leave him on 1 on 1 coverage. They won't double team him but they will roll a saftey to his side to prevent the over the top pass.Quote:

If you can get a corner with good speed, you don't need a safety over the top.
Guys like Lavereneous Coles don't need double coverage, they're fast, but not elite enough to command double coverage.
I thought the analysis was good...talking about reasons why we need to have either Berrian, or a suitable replacement.
Without someone in those shoes, our game is definitely different.
While he may not be a true #1, when you remove him we no longer have his experience.
Our receiver corps becomes a bit more bland, and much easier to defend. without him (or a replacement).
Berrian isn't needed in the preseason.
Either way Favre will be underthrowing him in the regular season.
Two words....
Anquan Boldin
We need to let BB rest until he is healthy. I think right now Jaymar can play the first part of the season for Berian until he heals. Hamstrings in fast guys, can linger if they keep getting pushed. Cris Carter already said this kid JJ could start for the Vikes, and he brings the same skills to the game as BB. So lets let that "hamy" completely heal, even if it takes 5+ games into the season, it's better than a setback if you rush it.
