Anyone read some of the stats against our apponent this weekend with respect to thier ability to stop the run?

Suffice it to say, we need the noodle this weekend.

By the way, whats with all this "Game Manager" shit out of some of you? LOL. PPO does crack me up my friend.

Hard to be a game manager with no run game. I did look at their stats. #1 against the run. Ouch. He did put up 143 on the Ravens so it can be down and they are ranked 6th. But he is not the same guy right now. We need to play Chester. We need to give Favre time. They have the 13th ranked passing D. What surprised me is that their offense is ranked 6th rushing and 21st passing. This could be a good match-up for us.

I am looking for SF at home to have a chance against the Cards this week.

But yes, 2 wins is one win less than what we should be striving for, the goal the team has is to win all 4 games, one game at a time. The 3 wins is a back up plan and anything less is unacceptable at this point.

IMO, this would be a perfect week to challenge the line and backs to step up and run the ball. Going up against the #1 run D (AT HOME,mind you), you tell them if you are going to win a SuperBowl this is only one of many challenges you'll have to face: Run the ball on the #1 Run D...

You tell them, Hey we've got a pretty good run game too, so go out there and it's mono e mono, it's you against them, and we'll see who's left standing at the end, our run game...or their run D.

And after the game, we'll find out if you're ready. We'll find out if you have it in you. And if not, then you're not ready to make a Super Bowl run, and you'll be coming in on Monday, cuz we've got work to do. :woohoo:

As long as our defense can step up and keep them from getting a lead, I see us running the rock a LOT. That was one of the big problems with the AZ game, we let ourselves get sucked into a vertical passing contest. We need to keep the score close and run run RUN the football. Wear down that DL so that in the 4th they are exhausted and we can do what we like against them. THAT is the kind of football that I like. Does it score as many points? Nope, but it also keeps the opposing offense off the field, and therefore doesn't let them score many points either.

Two wins will "likely" be fine.

I love that after one big game people forget how bad this AZ team can look some weeks. I don't *think* they are going to run the table and win their last five games.

If they do, then we obviously have to 3-1. That simple. But I feel fairly confident that if we come down the stretch 2-2 we will have a first round bye.

That said ... closing the season 2-3 and slipping to 12-4 would not make me feel comfy heading into the playoffs.

This weekends match-up is a chance for the Vikings and for Favre to stick it to the critics and show that last week was the fluke ... and there is no meltdown coming.
