The Vikings hired Derek Mason as assistant defensive backs coach Tuesday, raising their total of assistant coaches to 23.

Mason most recently served as the receivers coach at Ohio University. He played defensive back for Northern Arizona when Vikings coach Brad Childress was an assistant there in 1989.

Mason will assist defensive backs coach Joe Woods.

That's more than one coach for every two active players on the roster! Amazing
Isn't there 53 people on the active roster, and 5 on the practice squad?
That means there is one coach for every 2.3 active players, and one for every 2.5 player overall.

    Still an incredible ratio.

When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

    Can't say they aren't trying.
I wonder if it has something to do with their intention to move the team to LA.
y would that have anything to do with them movin to LA...
    Joking of course.

    The whole moving to
LA think is ridiculously absurd when Wilf has been pouring money into making this team succesful.
    I got your joke...... ;D

Reality will sink in pretty soon.
This is a direct reflection of the experience our team will have this year.

Lots of rooks = lots of coaching = lots of coaches.

    Simple Marrdro Math.

Put 2 + 2 together and you get B-chill coaching staff.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
