LOL, your not helping in my endevours of trying to find a loophole my friend. If the police seen him throwing punches, there will be little wiggle room for the mountain that is McKinnie.. if the bouncer testifies I think league action might be the least of his issues.. but I think no matter what.. MT. McKinnie will be sitting at least a game or two this season for this. This isn't his first brush with the legal side..

Re: Vikings Mckinnie pleads not guilty to brawl chargers
*edit*
Yeah, I guess he might be able to buy himself out too...
The only way he gets out of this is if he can prove self defense.
From what we're hearing though, he went back there and started the fight.
And, the bouncer's job puts him in a position of authority, so the law probably won't like that either.
For crying out loud, the guy is making over 7 million a year, has the world on a silver tray, and can't keep his head out of his bung hole.
I'd hate to have to start over with another OLineman's zone learning curve, but a lighter, more agile guy might be a better fit in the long run, and Big Mac is looking to miss some games.
One of those charges is a felony.
How much jail time do you guys think that entails...?
I'm all for trying to trade him while he's still worth something...ie before the entire NFL knows how F'd he is.
Let's trade him to KC for Thigpen, their 2nd round pick, and some homemade BBQ.
I wonder if the Jets or Pats would take him and our 17th, for their first, so we could snag Long, or Gholston if one fell to 6 or 7.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Re: Vikings Mckinnie pleads not guilty to brawl chargers
what is with all the man-love for Thigpen?
What has he ever done that warrents trading a starting Olineman for?
He's never even played a snap of NFL football, but he's been deemed "the one that got away"
He was a 7th round pick!, if he were really any good wouldn't you think someone would have picked him up earlier than 7th?

So did Tjack and then he threw 4 picks to the amazing lions secondary :-\
Really you should just ignore people that say we should trade MAC. They don't understand how valuable a run blocking LT is too a Runshing team. Seattle lost a Guard and their run game became none exsistant.
Our best bet is to sign Shane Oliviea from the Chargers as a back up to MAc if he gets suspended. If He doesn't let Shane fight for the RT job.

Re: Vikings Mckinnie pleads not guilty to brawl chargers
not being too clued up on US law ... despite watching Law & Order each week - would the league and the justice system take a harsher view on him if he is found guilty after a not guilty plea than if he just
took the guilty plea.
I would imagine that they would be harder on him in this situation - anyone enlighten me some more on this ?Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

Re: Vikings Mckinnie pleads not guilty to brawl chargers
It really depends on the judge I would imagine.
I don't pretend to be an expert on the subject, but I would say most people who are charged of a felony like this would plead not guilty, in hope of lessening the punishment.
The only reason they would plead guilty is a) they are a truly honest person and want to take what they deserve, or b) they have reached an agreement with the prosecutor that if he pleads guilty, he will have a lesser punishment.
Since he is pleading not guilty, i would say its safe to assume that no agreement has been reached, but I'm sure they will try to resolve this without going to court.
