Saturday, June 2nd, 2007 by Judd Zulgad

The Vikings completed their fourth practice of this weekend’s minicamp at Winter Park. Among those watching were Gophers football coach Tim Brewster and his son, Clint, who will be a quarterback on the team this coming season...

What stood out to me about Day 2 of the mini-camp was how terrible Tarvaris Jackson looked...Meanwhile, Brooks Bollinger made some nice throws, at least giving his receivers a chance to make plays...

It's Sean Jensen, what do you expect?

I am sure that TJ is a little rusty and raw still.
Remember, he is still learning.
Still, I like that Bollinger was looking good.
I know people think I am nuts, but I think he is better than a lot of people give him credit for, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him starting this year while TJ continues to learn.

Its a mini camp, what is the issue? If he looks horrible 2 months from now then there is need for concern, people learning new offense. They have to get their timing down, ect. It will take time. I am confident it will get better.

I disagree. If he looks poor now, there is reason for concern now. The time to address it is now, now two months from now.

Find out where the problem is & address it. The timing issue might be a problem for the new receivers, but the the issues that seem to be causing problems are his handling snaps from Birk, indecisiveness & holding on to the ball to long. Remind you of anyone?. That is not a timing issue.

Both Birk & T-Jack were here last year & should have the ball exchange mastered by now. I'm getting the impression that the pressure of knowing that he is probably now the starter & the responsiblity that goes along with it are weighing heavy on him & affecting his game from a mental point.

Call it butterflies the jitters or whatever, but he needs to settle down & relax.

Minicamp complete; Winfield to stay away from OTAs

The Vikings had a final minicamp workout at their indoor practice facility Sunday morning. The team will resume organized team activites on Tuesday but those are optional and the three-day minicamp was mandatory....
