Uh guys does anyone think that we might not have gotten a call back to match the 6th? Considering who the two coaches involved in this trade were...

I'm guessing they did call the Vikings back and ask if they were willing to give up their 6th. At the end of the day, both Harbaugh brothers have higher ups to answer to. The Ravens were looking for the best possible deal.

49ers got a steal. That division just got scary.

We did have that 7th round pick from the Cards which I think was pick number 199 and the niners got him using their 6th which was like 191st pick so I'm not so sure they where way off the mark but I'd also have been happy to give a 6th and that 7th pick for Boldin. But there also something to be said about getting into a bidding war over a guy that was looking to be released and lets face it going to the niners (a team that was just in the SB) or the Vikings, well I would have wanted to go to the niners.

I agree. I think if Boldin would have been traded to Minnesota, he would have called it a career. He said before that he would retire if he wasn't with the Ravens next year. I am guessing that going to the NFC Champs changed his mind on that one.

    Yup.

Anquan Boldin trade spurred by Harbaugh bros call - NFL.com

Once Jim realized the Ravens were serious about a trade, he quickly moved to strike a deal for the veteran receiver.

"I called him up and said, 'Would you be interested?' He said, 'Heck yeah. I'll go talk to Trent,' " said John Harbaugh, referring to 49ers general manager Trent Baalke.

Within 30 minutes of the original phone call, Baalke and Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome had the details in place for Boldin to land in San Francisco.
