Thread: Vikings Linebackers in 2005

I now it is early but planning ahead never hurt. Clairborne and Newman are both unrestricted free agents? Do we try to keep them or go after someone else (Julian Peterson from the 49ers). We have the money but are they worth it. The veteran leadership is nice but if they cant produce on the field, then what are they really worth. We have some good young talent and with a Franchise player like Peterson or maybe Kendrell Bell from Pit.

The other money should be spent on the free agent corner Woodson. I know he isnt what he was but he is better then what we have. Woodson and Winfield in the secondary would be great. That should help the line get some more pressure.

Please Red spend the money and sign Woodson and Peterson for the Defense, our offense is set.

(* If they want to sign Walter Jones from Seattle and do some rearranging to replace Dixon, I am fine with that).

Why replace Dixon...he had a great year and he wants to come back (and will take less to do it)!

Fred Smoot could be available as well...I would take him over Woodson.

As far as the LBs are concerned, see my post on an earlier thread regarding this.

we might be a good free agent Corner and LB away from a mediocre D... however, we also know that the Vikes can play at a championship D level thanks to last night's performance... let's concentrate on this weeks game instead for now.
