A few of us have had the same thought, that we are a double digit sack master at DE away from being a top five defense. I like the guys we have, and hope that Erasmus can get healthy, but just like Pat said, "one of you guys at DE should have double digit sack numbers with Kevin and I getting double-teamed every play". We have youth at the position and they all show great potential, but a premier passrusher would put this team at the top of the sack leading teams.

You might get your chance.
We dropp Erasmus and Scott which will open up a RDE slot and a LDE slot.

Pay top dollar for the RDE guy and get a mid level guy to add to the rotation behind Keneche at the LDE spot.

Pat Williams doesn't think the Vikings need to venture outside of Winter Park to find a solution.

"I think our ends are all right, if we get everyone back healthy," he said. "I think they need to work hard during the offseason and continue to develop."

Between Erasmus James, Ray Edwards, Otis Grigsby, Jayme Mitchell, Brian Robison, and next year's draft can we really not find anybody to play great at RDE next year? Do we have to trade for Jason Taylor or someone? Whatever it takes. This position has got to be the biggest need on the whole team.

How about getting Marques Douglas off the 49ers?

that right there should be the pool of talent we find our DE's
at least 1 of them should be a standout.. and as i've seen rotating 2-3 of them around is working very well for us in the whole game time scope.

here's a tuffer q for ya though.. say we go with youth.. and players struggle a bit, and subs step in and do great.. do we change starters based on stats?
then sub in more time for the one having that good game vs those having the off game?

this would require thinking.. does our DL coach have this?
