The vikings and lack of developing a qb
I really don't care what you guys say Tarvaris is better and has more potential than, Sanchez, A Smith, Orton, Fitzpatrick, Stafford, Arizona Qb's, Jimmy Clausen, Chad Henne, Campbell and Gradkowski We could have it much worse, the playing callig was atrocious for T-jack, Tarvaris has the skil just needs more development time, remeber in 2008 they went 10-6 and won the NFC north title, imagine how much Tarvaris would be better if he was starting for 2 years
Re: The vikings and lack of developing a qb
yep he has so much potential that we went cap in hand to bring back a 40 yr old QB to lead this team this season. In addition when said veteran QB suffered a serious ankle injury he was still playing as the coaching staff knew there was a serious drop off in ability to TJ.
If he shows signs that he has learnt and improved since he first took to the field then fine but at the moment that is not looking to be the case.
There is only so long that someone can be continually be touted as having potential before he is expected to deliver on that.

lmao. Oh yeah, you are talking about the season where he was humiliated and sat on the bench after two games and the "HOF" QB, Frerotte, led the charge for the division title. That year is the year that he was so great.
I agree with the title of the thread. Tarvaris Jackson has been given many chances to prove himself and he has failed every single time. We should just give him another half a decade, one half decade isn't enough.
The play calling was atrocious for TJack? It's amazing how it was so much better in 2009 with the same personnel calling the plays. It must be a conspiracy theory against TJack. Poor guy, he just doesn't get a fair shake.
2006: BJ folds, Tarvaris mops up the end of the season
2007: TJack is deemed starter, Bollinger and Holcomb actually see playing time due to his fragility.
2008: TJack is deemed starter and loses job
2009: Coaching staff performs oral sex on a kodger so they don't have to endure another season with TJack at the helm, even after they declared TJack ready.
2010: Players perform oral sex on kodger so he returns and TJack doesn't have to be the man, of course, the coaching staff deems him read even though they are in the deep south begging and pleading for an alternative. The current coaching staff is hoping Favre can return this year (a cripple), in a year when they are eliminated from the playoffs and they know the kodger is not the future of the franchise and they still don't want Tarvaris to be the man (due to his inability to perform)
Tarvaris Jackson folds under pressure. He does well as a backup. Everytime he is under pressure in a must-win he folds. Now that the Vikings are eliminated from the playoffs I wouldn't be surprised if he has a decent day. I would say half a decade with multiple opportunities in the exact same system is ample.
Besides the players (of the team that was a play away from the SB) not wanting him as the starter and the coaching staff not wanting him as a starter..shown by their actions and the league not chasing after him when he was testing the market a year ago.....um, I would say you are in the minority thinking that TJack is starting material in the NFL. He is a bust and this franchise is in desperate need of a QB. That much is obvious to anyone.
Tarvaris is great, he just needs more time.
Re: The vikings and lack of developing a qb
If you don't care what we say, then how come you started a thread win which people will post in.
Furthermore, if you do not care what we say....then that means you will not be replying to any posts here.
BTW, LOL @ TJ!

Bring back the Purple Dot of Stupidity!

Re: The vikings and lack of developing a qb
This is an NFL team, not midgets. That's where Jackson should play. Most of his bad throws are directly at an opponent. I have never seen a QB that looks as confused as he does. Unfortunately the NFL doesn't have minor leagues.
Re: The vikings and lack of developing a qb
The quarterback position was not an important part of the Kick Ass Offense. This is all according to plan.
Re: The vikings and lack of developing a qb
Favre had his best season at the age of 40.
Maybe we just need to wait until Jackson is.....older....ummmmmmm, maybe even 50.
