I would love to see a big blockbuster trade dealing JA to another team and getting primo picks to get younger.

I love JA as much as any defensive player we have had but I also see his value and the potential to build one hell of a team with what can can get for him and we may not be SB ready with him on the roster while he is still at the top of his game. Trade him to NE and get all our picks back plus their first next year.

Camp bodies can be had on the cheap. They are called UFA's & walk-ons, not 6 year veterans.

    Sounds more like backup material.

You see his stats? Camp body.

Jackson is a situational pressure guy. He does not have great run stuffing range.

He is penciled in as a back-up, but he may end up fodder if the Vikings find a player that performs better in camp.

    Another one year contract?

I'm betting they are higher & cost us more than than what we'd pay a walk-on for training camp fodder.

If he was brought on for fodder only, it was a waste of money when we could have paid a walk-on or UDFA to do that after the draft.

    Vikings Interested in Lawrence Jackson?

He is not a camp body and I doubt we trade anyone. We now have a solid DL with great backups and rotation.

He surely isn't a starter. If he was, the Lions wouldn't have had to bring in other talent. (Wink Wink).

I can agree with you to a point, especially on the "Situational" comment, however, if you look at everything this staff has tried to do when it comes to players, they try to bring in cats that aren't one dimensional.

They look for players that can play multiple positions within their position and tend to stay away from "Situational" guys.
