I think "hike" is a fairly strong word - 3% isn't much more than the average cost of living increase in the US.

Here is a link to the 2008 seating chart with prices.
    http://www.vikings.com/Resources/images/57104.pdf

My tickets went up $7 per ticket per game.
    Not horrible.
That is more like a 10% increase, but I can live with it.

It is a big hike when the company you've been working for has only been doleing out 1%-2% raises the past 8 years.

I think it would be more accurate to say that the company you've been working for hasn't been keeping up with the COL increases... which sucks - but unfortunately I bet that is the norm.

Re: Vikings hike season ticket prices

Wow - looking at the seating chart I noticed a few things.

    1) There really aren't very many suites in the metrodome.
    2) The promotional season tickets that went for $19.61 pet seat ($196.10 for the season) have reverted back to the $25 per seat level.
    3) The first couple of rows in the lower level between the 30 yard lines are the SECOND most expensive.
Probably the players on the bench get in your line of sight there.
I wonder if it has always been like that.

Unfortunately, I believe that is the wave of the future for the type of business I'm in. As long as their are 3rd world countries willing to do the same type of work I'm doing for pennies on the dollar.

Ticket prices go up every year.
    For every team.
This isn't some calculated move of any kind.

The quality of the team on the field as well as the quality of the stadium have more to do with selling tickets than ticket prices anyway.

Re: Vikings hike season ticket prices

I went to vikings.com and put a $25 deposit on each of 4 season tickets for 2008. I don't know how much they cost or what section they are in. Does anyone know what the norm is for first time season ticket buyer? I am assuming(and hoping) they are the cheap $250 tickets. I think I find out after all the current season ticket holders have had an opportunity to renew their tickets, any one know when this happens?
