1. Metrodome — The Vikings once possessed a home-field advantage enjoyed by no other team when it called old Metropolitan Stadium home. The Vikings played in four Super Bowls while playing at the Met. Since moving into the garbage-bag-roofed Metrodome, the Vikings haven't made it to the Super Bowl. The Vikings are smart by wanting to build a new stadium that will be open-air and glorious when the elements can wreck havoc on teams from warmer parts of the country.

i don't agree with this at all... i don't think the dome is that bad for football, what about you?

The dome isn't horrible for football, but I do think it is the worst in the NFL.
It is simply out dated and no longer a practical place for the Vikings to play.
The parking sucks, the concessions pale in comparison to other stadiums, the audio is impossible to understand due to the echo, and we did lose an enormous home field advantage when we left the Met (which, despite nogistalic momories, was kinda a POS too ).

Bring on the new stadium!

If it isn't the worse it's in the top three.

Once again a comment by someone that knows nothing of the Vikings or the teams history.
We didn't go to 4 Super Bowls because we were playing at the Met. We went to 4 Super Bowls because of Bud Grant.
In fact the rap in those days was that we weren't winning the big one because in Jan we had no place to practice and it put us at a disadvantage.
Bud used to put the team on a plane and fly to warmer states during the playoffs when the Met was frozen over in order to practice.
That's why they built the dome.
In its day the dome was cool.
Its just old now and too small to make a competitive profit with other teams and venues.
On the up side I have heard it said that it is maybe the loudest stadium to play in.
IMO that is more of an advantage than freezing your azz off at the old met.

I've been to about a half dozen NFL stadiums and, now that the Kingdome is gone, the Metrodome is definately number one worst with a rocket. I love the Vikes, but the location, parking, set-up, concessions, view, just about everything, sucks in comparison. I don't know if I'm too keen on freezin' like the old days, but we could definately do a lot better than what we've got.

People keep mentioning that the concessions sucks, what's wrong with them?

I agree somewhat.. It may not be the worse stadium in sports, but it is up there.. I remember the first time I went to the Metrodome, I noticed that it had alot of rips in the roof.. It is in playable condition, but the Vikes need a new stadium badly..

Dome dogs are awesome, standing in line for a quarter to get one sucks.
I love the noise that the dome generates, but other than that, I pretty much agree.
The Vikings need an outdoor stadium.

The concessions do suck! They ran out of brats last time. What else could I possibly eat at a football game?

I agree.
The concession workers are morons too, I swear they do not know how to work the frickin register.
Every time I go to order one the register is not working or they don't know how to work it.
And one time I go to order a Dome Dog and they don't have any made.
This was at half time too, how is it possible for them not to have any Dome Dog's ready at HALF TIME!!
So I guess the concessions do suck!
