They don't need McKinnie, they have Walter Jones at LT.

    McKinnie signs extension with Vikes!

Vikings signed LT Bryant McKinnie to a seven-year, $48.5 million contract extension. The deal includes $18.1 million guaranteed.

Seems like we signed another OL to league record money. Oh well. Our left side is gonna be the best in the NFL for years to come now.

How long is Birk still on contract for?

got to love it.. they worked the contract near perfectly so that he would never make more then hutch, but damn, he's still maknig so much.

they always say no one gives enough credit to the offensive line.. well.. the vikings just changed that this year, the most over-looked position in football will get a lot more attention this year, all because of the two guys to the left of birk

in answe to ur question i belive ive read that it he would be getting something like 17.6 million (with the signing bonus) for the 2006 season! and although that is alot of money we now have the left side of the line signed through the 2011 season (wich by the way is when our lease of the metrodome ends) meaning we might have a new stadium by then (hopefully)

YEA YAHOOOooooooooo Just in case you did not get it I am very happy about this little piece of news.
It was a fear of mine that once McKinnie started to play well we would lose him in free angency that is a big relieve off of my head

Brad Childress knows when to sign players at the right time. Only if he would stop signing players he has coached before...
