Thread: Vikings have the best LB corp in the league?

If you get the NFL channel, be sure to watch Playbook NFC which will be broadcast again today at 11AM central.

They had a nice little piece touting the Vikings as having the best linebacking corp in the league as well as Henderson being the hardest hitting LB playing the game today.

They made a good point, these guys haven't been getting a lot of credit for our wins this season, despite the fact that they have returned 9 turnovers for TD's this year.

I seen that singer..ok it just doesnt feel right for people to be on our bandwagon..it just seems wrong..im soo used to us being overlooked and the underdog i began to like it..now its kinda wierd being in the spotlight.. and our linebacking corp isnt as good as WSH or CHI or SEA.. yes we are good but come on..i say top 5-10

My opinion:

EJ is a monster, Pro Bowl-type player.
Certainly he's playing better than a certain MLB for the Bears this season.
Leber is underrated and a solid LB.
Greenway still looks lost at times in pass coverage.


So I can't say the Vikes' core is the best in the league.

Linebacker play has improved,
but with teams like the Patriots out there, our LB corps is not the best in the league. At least not yet.

We're near the top which is awesome b/c it's been a weakness for a while.
Greenway's attitude and success has been a big plus this year.

Yeah..
I felt the same way in '98 with a rookie Randy Moss and 2nd stringer Randall Cunningham.
At the time, I lived in Wisconsin, and to see the Vikings not only sweep the Pack, but BURY them, was almost uncomfortable.

The Viking 'backers are awesome.
And given the stats, they are better than WSH, CHI, and SEA.
Though, I am with you on the rankings.
I never thought the Vikings to have the best linebacking corp in the league.
Top 5 is a lock, though.

Having the internet = gud!

While I think they are better than what the average fan thinks they are, they are no where near the top.
Like someone said, since it was our weakness, it is very nice to have a better linebacker group than alot of teams.
