Vikings get "flag happy" officiating crew

The Vikings-Cowboys game was assigned the officiating crew which threw the most flags, by far, this season. They were especially hard on home teams.

Get ready for a lot of yellow flags this Sunday. I hate this crew. Officials should let players play in the play-offs.

Oh well, it should not matter if we just blow the Cowboys out.

This is a way the league has in determining the outcome of a game. It should be a random pick-em type of thing rather than a league determined assignment. Do the teams have any recourse before the game to object? Like if the league assigned Ed Hochuli's crew to the Chargers game.

I'm really interested in how they do determine the assignments.

Well, if we commit zero errors, then there's no reason to throw the flags. And if there are flags thrown, then we'll know what the league is up to..

That logic works if refs never get calls wrong. I've seen PI's where no contact was made and the league apologized, but the end results never changed.

Also, holding is very subjective and can be the easiest thing for refs to call with very little chance of being called on by his bosses.

I'm not saying any of these things will happen, but zero penalties doesn't equal zero flags and yardage.

I'm very much aware of this. Which is why I added the second sentence.

Well, I know I'm digging my tear-apart referee doll out of storage for this game.
