An interesting comment from safety Dwight Smith on the Vikings' uninspired 41-21 loss to St. Louis on Sunday: "Just the whole atmosphere seemed dead, from the stands to our play to coaches' enthusiasm, from every level, it just seemed like everybody had one foot out the door. When it's like that and you play a good team like the Rams, it's going to show."
I couldn't agree more.
When I walked into the dome it was very subdued.
When we got to our seats there were several empty no one was cheering.
I think that I was the only one cheering in our whole section.
The most excitement they saw was the never ending wave.
IMO if you are a fan and you come to a game that you know isn't going to get you back in the playoff running you still cheer b/c they are still your team.

The biggest cheers of the day were either for free t-shirts from the guy with the air cannon or when the wave sprang up in the 3rd quarter. It was quiet enough that you could hear the cheerleaders chanting in the 2nd deck.
The whole building had an air of "Oh well" about it.
